Ibusa Community Development Union, Canada Branch is the only community association of the Ibusa people in Canada, legally registered with the Canada Business Corporations Act (CBCA). It was established in 1999 when the organization was conceived with the name, ‘Izu Ibusa’ which later transformed to the name ‘Ibusa Community Association of Canada’ and then to “Ibusa Community Development Union, Canada Branch” following its integration as the Canada chapter of ICDU Worldwide in 2019.
To build Ibusa where everyone has a decent place to live.
To Protect and enhance quality of life for all our people as they age. We lead positive social change and deliver value to our Ibusa communities through information, advocacy and service.
Indigenes of the community and their wives are by birth members of the community. Any indigene of Ibusa is a member of the development union but he/she needs to activate the membership by officially registering himself/herself, attending meetings and paying dues and levies regularly.
